Former employee of TSMC arrested on suspicion of industrial espionage

One of the former employees of the company TSMC was accused of stealing technology secrets manufacturer. An engineer with the name Xu (Hsu) allegedly took possession of confidential information related to 28-nanometer production of semiconductor products.

After that, Xu, according to accusations, gave these data to Shanghai Huali Microelectronics (HLMC), where he received a certain position. However, the attacker was arrested before he began work in the HLMC.

According to the report, to which the source refers, HLMC led a team of 50 UMC engineers, helping it in the transition to 28-nanometer production standards. Apparently, HLMC was going to perform its work due to TSMC technologies.
