Yesterday it became known that Google agreed to pay 306 million euros to stop the legal proceedings with the Italian government on the topic of unpaid taxes.

Last year, the Italian tax authorities said that Google did not pay about one billion euros of taxes between 2009 and 2013. The representative of Google confirmed that in addition to the amount that the company paid for these years, Google will transfer an additional 306 million euros. The signed agreement covers the period from 2002 to 2015.

Not only Italy, but also other countries accuse Alphabet of tax evasion in European regions with higher taxation. This is done by withdrawing funds through a unit located in Ireland, where tax rates are the lowest in Europe.
