Spanish archaeologists have discovered in the necropolis of Dra Abu el-Negg in the Valley of the Kings a burial garden of about four thousand years.

The garden was part of the funerary complex: it was located at the entrance to the stone tomb and was on an open area in front of the tomb on a small half-meter elevation. The size of the garden is only three by two meters, it was divided into cells of 30 square centimeters each.

Two sectors of the garden were located just above the rest, according to researchers, they could grow small trees.

Scientists have previously known about the existence of such gardens, because they were depicted on funerary paintings in tombs, but the garden was discovered by archaeologists for the first time. In the garden grew a bush tamarisk, under which was found a bowl with dates. According to researchers, the garden can tell a lot about the life of the Egyptians.
