According to the policy of Microsoft, the latest generation processors of Intel Kaby Lake and AMD Ryzen are supported only on the operating system Windows 10. The remaining versions of Windows in the number of supported are not included, and therefore will not receive updates if they work on computers with these processors.
However, the system for determining processors from Microsoft is not the first time that it fails. Already there were news that stopped getting updates not only on Windows systems on new processors, but also on some other chips. Now a similar incident happened again.
There was information that Windows 7 stopped receiving updates on Intel Pentium Dual Core E5400 2.7 GHz and Celeron J1900. An error occurs when the computer is running on a processor of the latest generation.
However, there are also innovations: updates do not come also to computers with AMD Radeon RX480 graphics card, although it has not been up to now to ban video cards. Microsoft has so far not made any statements and users of affected computers still have to resort to workarounds for installing updates.
