The Chinese smartphone market is now growing rapidly, and the share of local manufacturers is increasing significantly every year, thus creating problems for such major players as Apple and Samsung. Last year, OPPO made a powerful breakthrough: the company managed not only to gain a foothold in its home market, but also to lead it, pushing Huawei first. However, the leadership of OPPO lasted only two quarters, and according to the results of the first quarter of 2017, Huawei again headed the Chinese segment. The company managed to sell 21 million devices, thus occupying 18% of the local market. OPPO in the first months of 2017 relaxed, shipments fell by 55% compared to the same period last year, because of which the company dropped to the second line of the rating. Closes the top three brands brand Vivo with a share of 15% and shipments of 17 million smartphones. Interestingly, the OPPO and Vivo brands belong to the Chinese corporation BBK.
Regarding Huawei, the company is waiting for a rather hot year in 2017, because to protect their positions will have to immediately on several fronts. The fourth place went to Apple, and the fifth was Xiaomi with deliveries of 9 million smartphones.
The total supply of smart phones to China in the first 3 months of 2017 amounted to 114 million smartphones. This is 9% more than last year. Despite the stable growth of the Chinese market, every year the growth is getting smaller.
