SBU convicted eight companies of using spyware of Russian origin

The Security Service of Ukraine conducted searches and seized computer equipment in eight companies that used and sold banned spyware of Russian production. This is reported on the SBU on Facebook.

"Based on the results of the operation conducted by the SBU, searches were carried out and computer equipment was seized in eight companies that used and sold spy Russian software with hidden functions of unauthorized access, including information with limited access," the SBU reported..

The SBU noted that spyware production programs of the Russian Federation refer to special technical means of secretly receiving information.

The SBU continues to work to identify the persons involved in their use and distribution, it is found out the losses to the national interests of Ukraine.

"Last year, law enforcement officers in the criminal proceedings opened on h. 2 items. 359 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, terminated the activities of a commercial entity that illegally sold Russian software in Ukraine. During the pre-trial investigation, special services operatives installed several companies, companies and companies, whose management deliberately purchased illegal software, "the SBU.

SBU noted that starting from 2014. , Special and intelligence agencies of the Russian Federation use programs and technical means for secretly obtaining intelligence information.

"Russian intelligence agencies are interested in access to information critical infrastructure facilities, as well as enterprises that have important defense significance. The case of the use of spyware continues investigation.



As reported, today in the office of the investment company Dragon Capital, the SBU conducted searches, several computers were seized. Later in the company explained that the searches were related to suspicion of illegal use of software.

Earlier, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman was indignant at the fact that searches were conducted in the office of the investment company Dragon Capital and instructed the government commissioner to find out what was happening there.
