Scammers continue to cash in on gullible Cossacks

Despite systematic warnings of law enforcement officers about various cases of fraud and methodological recommendations how to protect themselves from their actions, citizens continue to give money to scams.

So, on April 25, a 24-year-old student of one of the city's universities addressed the Alexandrovsky police station with a statement. He said that his mobile phone received an SMS message that his card was allegedly blocked. To unlock, you need to call back to the number specified in the message.

The victim rang.

The interviewee called himself an employee of one of the banks and told about the alleged identification of the cardholder. The guy gave full information on the card account and called secret one-time codes, received him sms messages. As a result, the card disappeared 10 thousand hryvnia.

Criminal proceedings were opened on h. 1 st. 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the press service of the State Administration of the National Police in Zaporozhye region.
