In 2014, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note Edge - a smartphone with a curved edge of the screen. In 2015, appeared Galaxy S6 Edge. In 2016, the initiative was continued with the help of Galaxy S7 Edge, and in 2017 Samsung does not have a flagship smartphone without curved screen faces. How can history develop further? According to ETNews - the next innovation could be a display with four curved faces.

Many device manufacturers are trying to make frameless smartphones today. They look like when the edges of the screen are curved, but today only the side faces are curved. If in addition to bend the top and bottom edges of the screen, it can occupy more than 98 percent of the front panel of the device. According to the latest rumors, Samsung Display and LG Display are already working on the creation of such a solution.

Unfortunately, we will not see such displays very soon.

There are manufacturing problems that do not allow making the corners of such a screen sensitive to pressing. Four corners will be completely useless due to limitations of the lamination process.

During lamination, the displays are covered with a protective layer, touchscreen and some other components. Apparently, for the creation of displays curved from all sides, a serious refinement of the lamination process will be required. It is reported that Samsung and LG are actively looking for a solution to the problem.
