Earlier in April, a YouTube user under the name EverythingApplePro conducted a visual test of the performance of flagship smartphones Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7 Plus. In an experiment on the part of the South Korean vendor, the device with a Snapdragon chip. Then the iPhone 7 beat the competitor with a huge margin. The creators of the PhoneBuff project questioned the impartiality of the authors of the experiment and decided to conduct a new test.
The algorithm "benchmark" was similar: the blogger starts the stopwatch, and then - consistently the same games or applications on each of the mobile devices. The result is then fixed, and smartphones go to the second round. In other words, benchmarks are not used - the goal is not to compare the technical characteristics of devices. The main thing is how the device behaves in everyday programs.
This time the situation has not changed: iPhone 7 will be sent again first. In the first seconds noticeably, as a smartphone for a moment behind the Galaxy S8. However, as soon as it comes to games, the Apple phone immediately rushes forward.
The lag of the Galaxy S8 is increased when the applications are "run through" again.
At this stage, the device should load tasks from RAM and this stage the Android-smartphone failed: half of the applications, including Facebook, Snapchat and Subway Surfers had to be downloaded in a new way. And this despite the fact that the Samsung smartphone has 4 GB of RAM compared to 3 GB for iPhone 7 Plus.
As a result, iPhone 7 Plus passed tests for 1 minute and 46 seconds, and the high-end flagship of Samsung lagged behind it for almost 40 seconds.
