The virtual reality helmet (VR) Lenovo will appear on the market closer to the beginning of the new school season. This is reported by network sources, citing the statements of Mike Abery (Mike Abary), vice president of consumer devices Lenovo in North America.

Recall that earlier this year at CES 2017, Lenovo demonstrated a VR helmet for Windows Holographic. The device is equipped with two OLED-displays with a resolution of 1440 ? 1440 pixels. In the front part of the helmet there are two chambers. It also has built-in sensors to monitor the movement of the user in space, eliminating the need for external cameras or other equipment.

As Mr. Abery noted, Lenovo's VR helmet will cost less than Oculus Rift.

Network sources specify that we are talking about the amount of 300 to 400 US dollars. The novelty will enter the market in late summer or early autumn.

It is estimated that in 2016, globally, more than 2 million virtual reality helmets with a built-in display. In 2017, according to forecasts, sales of VR-helmets will exceed 5 million units, and in 2018 will be about 10 million. In 2020, the volume of supplies is projected at the level of 20 million units - that is, a 10-fold increase is expected compared to 2016.
