Intel will continue the production of single-chip systems ordered by the Chinese company Spreadtrum

Intel and Spreadtrum Communications continued cooperation, in which Intel acts as a contract manufacturer that produces single-chip systems developed by specialists from Spreadtrum.

According to industry sources, Intel will soon begin production of 14-nanometer SoC Spreadtrum SC9853, which the Chinese manufacturer expects to present in the third quarter of this year.

In February, the first chip Spreadtrum, designed to be manufactured using Intel's 14-nanometer technology. This is the SoC SC9861G-IA. Its configuration includes an eight-core CPU, a PowerVR GT7200 GPU and a LTE Category 7 modem. A single-chip system designed for smartphones of the middle and upper segments, supports displays up to 2560 x 1600 pixels and two cameras up to 26 megapixels.
