In 2021, the world market will receive 100 million 5G-smartphones

Analysts of CCS Insight presented an updated forecast for the global mobile phone market. It is expected that in 2017 producers will release almost 2 billion "tubes", increasing last year's volume by 2%. At approximately the same pace, the market will grow in the future, as a result of which in the next five years the total shipments of the devices will exceed 10 billion units. By 2021 the volume of the market in physical terms is expected at the level of 2.08 billion devices.

Smartphones will continue to strengthen their positions. In 2017, shipments of communicators should exceed 1.5 billion pieces, while shipments of ordinary "mobile phones" are expected within 460 million devices. It is expected that by 2021 the shipments of smartphones will increase to 1.9 billion pieces, and their share in the mobile phone market will reach 92%.

Also in the forecast CCS Insight says about the rapid growth in the segment of devices with support for 4G LTE technology.

For the first time such models appeared in 2011, when their share in the market was only 0.2%. Experts believe that in 2017, 68% of all released mobile phones will be able to work in mobile networks 4G LTE, and by 2020 the share of such devices will rise to 84%.

Moreover, analysts are already talking about the introduction of 5G. It is expected that in 2021 the world market will receive 100 million units supporting this advanced technology, and the leaders in their implementation will be North America, Japan and South Korea.
