The new study showed that family therapy can be carried out using ChatGPT. That is, AI can solve the romantic problems that have arisen in the couple.
Experts say that people can rarely distinguish therapy for couples from a professional and tips provided by AI. In fact, the answers to the problems of relations written by ChatGPT were usually evaluated even above the advice of key principles of psychotherapy, writes Dailymail.
The researchers asked 830 people, the fifth of whom previously passed therapy for couples, revise the answers to the problems in relations provided by the therapist or AI. They needed to determine whether they considered a response to an expert-man or tool of AI.
People correctly said that the answer came from the therapist in only 56% of cases, and guessed correctly that the author was ChatGPT in only 51% of cases, experts say.
The authors of the study under the leadership of the University of Ohio and Hatch Data and Mental Health came to the conclusion that AI can help improve therapy.
The ChatGPT study was opposed by 13 experts, including clinical psychologists, psychologists-consultants, marriage and family therapists and a psychiatrist.
The answers of artificial intelligence and therapists were evaluated in accordance with whether they were caring and whether it seemed that they understood a person, whether they corresponded to different environment and culture, whether they were approaching the therapeutic environment, and what a good therapist would say.
ChatGPT received a big assessment of these principles of psychotherapy than experts. As well as instructions of artificial intelligence for couples are recognized as more positive, researchers say.
However, the authors note that it was hypothetical therapy. They also say that if II allowed to be too “creative” and innovative in their answers, with fewer rules in his training, then this risks harm people fighting serious problems.
