In high-income countries, the number of people who spend less time on physical activity at work and leisure time is increasing, jeopardizing their health and quality of life. This is evidenced by the study published in the British medical journal The Lancet by the World Health Organization (WHO).

She conducted an analysis involving certain population groups in 168 countries around the world between 2001 and 2016. The number of participants in public opinion polls reached almost two million people.

The least active in 2016 were women in Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia and the wealthy Western countries.

At the other extreme are Oceania, Eastern and Southeast Asia, as well as sub-Saharan Africa.

In the advanced economies, an average of 37% of the adult population. In Germany, this figure, for example, amounted to 42%.

Among the countries of Eastern Europe, Moldova (in all, 11.5%) positively distinguished itself, and negatively Serbia (39.5%).
