The first magnetic excitations close to the magnetic storm of the first level G1, will cover Ukraine on September 8. This is reported by the Laboratory of X-ray Solar Astronomy.

According to the standard NOAA scale, class 1 storms can affect energy systems - weak fluctuations in power systems, spacecraft - little impact on spacecraft control systems, ground systems - aurorae visible at high latitudes (up to 60 degrees), at the beginning of animal migration.

According to experts, the largest magnetic storms in 2018 were recorded on March 18-19, April 20 and May 5-6, when the geomagnetic activity index reached a value of 6, which corresponds to a storm level 2 on the maximum possible five-point scale. All other events of this year, including the magnetic storm on June 18, belong to the minimum level of 1.

Earlier in the Laboratory of X-ray Astronomy of the Sun warned of six magnetic bursts in September, which equated to a magnetic storm level G1.
