Half a glass of wine or a mug of beer a day increases the risk of breast cancer in women, according to a report by experts from the World Cancer Research Foundation (WCRF). According to the report, if a woman consumes even a small portion of wine daily (10 grams of alcohol), the risk of developing breast cancer after menopause is increased by 9%.

Scientists also note that regular physical exercises can reduce the likelihood of the disease. If a woman regularly runs a race or cycling, the risk of developing cancer will be 10% lower compared to those who lead a less active lifestyle.

At the same time, scientists note that the development of cancer affects many different factors, including the level of hormones and the genetic background.

WCRF specialists sing out a total of 18 factors that can contribute to the development of breast cancer to some extent, and alcohol consumption is only one of them.

Previously, British scientists warned that alcohol can lead to seven types of cancer: cancer of the mouth, throat, larynx, liver, intestines and digestive tract, as well as breast cancer.

Prior to this, experts have proved that the benefits of one glass of red wine are comparable to the effect obtained by the body after training in the gym.
