American scientists say that smoking immediately after awakening is especially harmful to the body. Moreover, the number of cigarettes smoked is not as important as the time that has passed from the moment of waking up to the first puff. According to studies, the morning smoking significantly increases the risk of serious diseases, including lung cancer, head and neck.
Doctors from the Penn Steit medical college conducted two large -scale research, the results of which confirm the danger of morning smoking. More than 7 thousand smokers participated in the first of them, of which 2,835 people were healthy, and 4,776 suffered from lung cancer. It turned out that those who smoked immediately after waking up, the risk of getting lung cancer increased by 79%.
In the second study, in which 1,850 people took part, it was found that cancer of the head and neck significantly more often affects those who smoke within half an hour after sleep. Moreover, in this group of people, cancer was diagnosed 59% more often than those who smoked only an hour after awakening. This discovery also confirms that the time has passed since the awakening is directly related to the risk of developing serious diseases.
It was previously believed that the harm of smoking does not depend on the time of day, however, new data indicate the opposite. Morning smoking is a powerful factor that increases the chances of cancer. Scientists emphasize that a cigarette, smoked immediately after waking up, has a stronger effect on the body than if a person smoked after some time.
Based on these conclusions, experts argue that a morning smoke break can cause several types of cancer at once.
It is important to remember that refusing smoking is not only an improvement in well -being, but also a significant reduction in the risk of diseases that can threaten life. It is especially dangerous to start a day with a cigarette, as this increases the likelihood of developing cancer.
Medical studies are increasingly confirmed that the fight against smoking should begin with changes in habits, including morning routine. If you want to improve your health, you should think about abandoning smoking or at least transfer the first smoke break to a later time.
