The Ministry of Health of Ukraine plans to use combined vaccines for vaccination according to the National Vaccination Calendar. This means that changes must be made to it.
Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin said this in an interview with Ukrinform.. According to him, reducing the number of injections for a child during a visit to a vaccination point in a health care institution is one of the strategies of the Ministry of Health.
Previously, some parents bought combination vaccines to vaccinate their children at their own expense.. However, now such vaccines will be given preference.
“Now we will talk about the fact that such vaccines will be given preference (when carrying out routine vaccinations - Ed.
Specifically, we are talking about vaccines that use at least five antigens, that is, they provide protection against five infectious diseases during one round or one vaccination visit - these are whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B and Haemophilus influenzae infection,” Kuzin said.
Vaccination against these diseases is included in the National Vaccination Calendar. And the changes that the medical doctor talks about are aimed at reconciling it with the possibility of using multicomponent vaccines and optimizing vaccination against hepatitis B carried out in maternity hospitals.
