Oral bacteria affect the development of rheumatoid arthritis Researchers from the University of Amsterdam have found similarities in the bacterial composition of the oral cavity in patients with early stage rheumatoid arthritis and those at high risk of developing the disease, compared with healthy people. The results were presented in the journal Arthritis \u0026 Rheumatology.

" Their content in saliva was higher in patients with an early stage of arthritis and those at risk compared with a healthy control.. Also, the concentration of Waylonella was increased in the plaque on the tongue, "
