Ukraine has the shortest healthy life expectancy among European countries, according to a study published in the medical journal Lancet. According to experts, it is only 61.7 years. As of 2019, life expectancy (healthy and unhealthy) in Ukraine was 73.8 years (78.3 years for women and 69 years for men). Iceland has the longest healthy life expectancy among European countries (71.9 years). The indicators of Ukraine's neighbors are as follows: in Russia, the life expectancy of a healthy life is also quite low - 63.

In the course of the study, experts analyzed fertility, mortality, migration and population indicators in 204 countries and territories and in selected subnational regions from 1950 to 2019.. For the world, the average is 63.5 years.
