The deterioration of the epidemiological situation in Transcarpathia led to a sharp increase in the number of hospitalized patients, so in the first-wave hospitals the intensive care units are already crowded.

This was stated by the chief physician of the Transcarpathian Infectious Disease Hospital Mikhail Polyak, reports Ukrinform.

" Over the past two weeks, the number of patients with coronavirus has grown significantly, we will soon reach the point that we will not have room for hospitalization, "

Now in hospitals of the first wave a small number of patients are admitted, because the healing process is difficult, treatment in a hospital lasts about three weeks.

As of the morning of June 20, 179 patients are in the first wave hospitals in Transcarpathia. Yesterday, June 19, only 11 were discharged.

Polyak also noted that since June 19, patients with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in the regional hospitals of the region. However, in some areas - Khustsky, Svalyavsky, Irshavsky they are also crowded.
