This opinion was voiced by scientists from the University of California, Science writes: they believe that it is necessary to eat fiber food.

U.S. researchers conclude dietary fiber is the best food for gut bacteria. When fibers are absorbed by the intestinal microbiome, substances are secreted, due to which the protective functions of the body are improved.

“Fibrous foods are most preferred for gut bacteria. When it is cleaved, short-chain fatty acids are formed that can stimulate the receptors of immune cells - this activates the antimicrobial reactions of the immune system, ”the scientists say in Science.



Before making such a conclusion, the researchers studied how intestinal microorganisms, cells of the immune system, and colonitis (cells of the mucous membrane of the large intestine) interact in the body. According to them, the protection of a person from pathogenic pathogens depends to a large extent on the activity of resident bacteria that act in conjunction with colonitis.. When a person eats foods rich in fiber and fiber, the colonitis functions so that the resident bacteria are as much as possible protected from death.
