American oncologists claim that artificial tanning, even in small doses, by 74%, increases the risk of melanoma, and a safe tanning bed does not exist at all.
The experiment was attended by more than 2260 people. Based on its results, researchers from the Department of Public Health at the University of Minnesota and the Masonika Cancer Center (Minneapolis) came to the conclusion that tanning beds are dangerous for human health. They published the results of their research in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention.
One of the leaders of the research group of the University of Minnesota lecturer Dianne Lazovic said that the likelihood of the disease is not related to the age at which a person begins to get involved in artificial tanning.
Recall that in July 2009, the International Agency for Research on Cancer found out that for people starting to go to the solarium under the age of 30, the risk of melanoma increases by 75%, and WHO experts declared the solarium to be potentially dangerous for people.
