Environmental pollution in particular, air, water, soil - all together contribute to an increase in the incidence of cancer, according to the American Cancer Society in the journal Cancer.

An experiment in the USA by specialists from the University of Illinois showed that there were more cases of cancer in areas where the environmental conditions are worse than in regions where the pollution level is consistently low.

Higher rates have been reported in all types of cancer, but especially in cases of breast and prostate.

A team of specialists determined that the average cancer incidence rate in all US states was 451 cases per 100,000 people.. In districts with many environmental problems, the average was 490.

Experts conclude that the minor effects of pollution in a number of areas have a strong effect on the number of diseases. “Our study is the first to examine the impact of cumulative environmental influences on cancer. This work helps support the idea that all the impacts we experience affect our health, ”says Jones Jagai.
