American engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Media Lab (MIT) have developed an innovative Skinbot robot that examines the condition of human skin by moving through the body using suction pads..

The latest model, on which Artem Dementyev (Artem Dementyev) worked with his colleagues, is called Skinbot V.

An illuminated microscope is built into the device, which allows to obtain an enlarged image of a specific skin area. Also, engineers have provided the ability to install a tool that measures the indicators of skin elasticity.. Moreover, embedded gadgets are able to receive information about the movements of a particular part of the body..

Skinbot V is a very small robot, its dimensions are only 2x4x2 centimeters. Pneumatic suction cups are attached to its legs, thanks to which the robot easily moves along the human body in all directions, and the suction force to the skin can be set.

The next version, Skinbot VI, is provided as a wireless device.. At the moment, engineers are developing its prototype.

Recently, a Japanese engineer introduced the SEER robot, which repeats human facial expressions in detail in real time, while he himself looks like a bust of a child..
