A recent study by Professor of Psychology Boaz Keisar of the University of Chicago with his colleague from the Ben Gurion University in Israel refuted earlier scientific beliefs.

More recently, it was believed that language does not play a special role for a person when it comes to lying.

The researchers conducted an extensive analysis of the influence of the foreign language factor on the centers of automatic human response. The experience was attended by people who speak different foreign languages ??- English, Hebrew, Spanish, Korean. They were divided into two groups. Both played dice, only the participants of the first communicated among themselves in their native language, and the participants of the second - on a foreign.

As a result, scientists have discovered that people who speak their native language intuitively lend themselves to being deceived and not to be caught. The other group was much less likely to give in to the impulsiveness of the trend, since its participants had to think over their words with greater care. A person who focuses on the formation of speech in a foreign language does not work the center of automatic response, as a result of which he almost always speaks the truth.

Psychologists notice that also plays an important role that the use of a foreign language for the human brain is less intuitive.

In June, another group of psychologists from the University of Chicago found a way to reduce the effect of hedonic adaptation - getting less pleasure from different experiences over time. They found that using new ways of interacting with something prevents the feeling of satiety.

To confirm their theory, they asked volunteers to eat popcorn wands.
