Thus, experts say, you can achieve a 20 percent reduction in blood sugar. Change potatoes and rice in their plates for legumes! With this appeal, people from the Department of Health and Nutrition Science and the Department of Agriculture and Agro-industry of Canada Ellison Duncan and Dan Ramdat addressed people with a diabetes and pre-diabetes problem. According to them, the use of potatoes and rice by modern people is too significant for such a diet to be considered healthy.

In half the cases, starchy side dishes should be replaced with others, since in large quantities they contribute to the development of tolerance to insulin, which is associated with an elevated level of glucose in the blood. All this is a prerequisite for the development of metabolic syndrome, obesity and diabetes. As a garnish, experts strongly recommend to prefer beans and in particular lentils. Replacing half a portion of rice with lentils can reduce blood glucose by 20 percent, replacing potatoes by 30, experts say.
