There are studies that show the relationship between shaving (or depilation) and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases).
In the study, American experts interviewed women and men of different ages. Participants in the experiment were asked questions about the frequency of removal of unwanted vegetation in the bikini zone and about sexual activity.
Most often pubic vegetation is removed by people who are sexually active. Men more often (in 42%) preferred an electric shaver, and women (61%) preferred a shaver.
Approximately 20% of those and others used scissors. 13% of respondents reported that there were cases of STDs.
Any removal of pubic hair increases the risk of contracting at least one STD by 80%. Shaving, depilation, haircut lead to microtraumas of the skin, through which bacteria and viruses penetrate the body. Scientists recommend after ablation of pubic hairs to refrain from sexual contacts at least 1 - 2 days.
