Never thought about what is in the composition of your cream? It does not matter whether it's expensive or budget, but if it contains at least one of the components that we'll cover in this article, immediately send it to the trash can!.

We talked with a professional about modern cosmetics and about what it consists of.

"Unfortunately, harmful components are now contained in 8 of the 10 creams presented on the shelves of cosmetic mass markets. If you look at the composition of any caregiver, you will see that most of the ingredients are written in English. And believe me, you'll never hear or see them in advertising, because some of them are toxic, harm the skin, hair and our health. Fearfully? Then take your beauty equipment from the shelf and study them for the following components ".

Glycerol (glycol).

This component collects moisture from the air, thus moisturizing your skin. But few people know that the humidity of air for this should be above 65%. And if you live in a normal apartment without a humidifier, then its humidity is much lower, especially in winter, when batteries are on. Glycerin begins to dry the skin, taking moisture out of its deep layers. You get only the illusion of moisturizing, and your skin is densely "attached" to the cream, because without it it traitors drastically, there is a feeling of tightness.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG).

This component is often found in medicines in the form of syrups, as well as in cosmetics and shampoos. Surprisingly, you can meet him even in a cream with the inscription "natural". Why? The trick is that this substance is considered harmless, provided that its concentration is below 20%. If you see polyethylene glycol in the cream on the first, second or third place - be careful. At the beginning of the list, manufacturers always write components that are in the percentage ratio most.

Mineral oil.

This is an oil derivative. No matter how difficult the cleaning process was, it is based, in one way or another, on oil. Mineral oil is the most common ingredient, it can be found even in children's creams. In cosmetics, it is added as a moisturizer, but the mineral oil does not moisturize your face. It simply forms a thin film on the skin, creating the illusion of moistening. However, under this film, the skin, on the contrary, suffers!.

Remember: our skin is a living organism that needs to breathe! And under such a petrochemical film the skin does not breathe, it does not produce toxins, dead cells and carbon dioxide. With the constant use of funds with this ingredient, your skin will fade and fade much faster than without it.

Alcohol methylated spirit.

This is a technical alcohol. It is mainly found in tonics for washing, but its effect greatly dehydrates the deep layers of the skin.

Placental extract This component is often found in "anti-age" cosmetics. It is made on the basis of the human placenta and is a high-hormone substance based on estrogens. Causes rapid accustoming to the skin, and with prolonged use can affect the entire hormonal system of the body. If you do not use the cream containing this extract, the process of skin aging can accelerate.

Hyaluronic acid and collagen.

These components are good, because they help our skin to remain resilient and youthful. However, one should know that they are of a high molecular and low molecular structure. Most cosmetics use a low molecular weight structure. Because of the large size, the molecule can not pass through the basal membrane of the skin cells. These substances can seep through the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin), but through the basement membrane of the cell - never. When buying serums or creams, look for products with a high molecular weight structure of hyaluronic acid and collagen.

Formaldehyde and its derivatives.

Do you know where formaldehyde is most often used? That's right, in the morgue. Because it is a cellular poison that stabilizes dead tissues so that they do not break down. In cosmetology, formaldehyde is used as a preservative: it is not used in its pure form, but its derivatives can often be found in cosmetics. Be careful, since formalin derivatives are carcinogens, they coagulate proteins and are very toxic. Benefits from such a substance is small, but harm is enough.

Triclosan or triclosan-chlorophenol.

Antibacterial component, which is needed to kill pathogenic bacteria, causing inflammation of the skin. However, unfortunately, it kills and beneficial bacteria. Decreasing thus your own skin immunity, you make it more sensitive and vulnerable to all sorts of infections.

How to protect yourself from dangerous ingredients in cosmetics?.

Going to the store for cosmetics, take a magnifying glass. With it, you probably will see even the smallest font and will understand what ingredients are made of this or that product.

Carefully look at the composition of the waste funds. The closer to the top of the list is written this or that substance, the more its concentration in the product.

When choosing cosmetics, the last thing you should be guided by is the price. Of course, quality ingredients cost more, and the price of a cream containing such substances starts from 1000 rubles.

But there is an important point here, because the price of a product depends not only on the composition, but also on the costs of marketing, advertising and packaging.

Please note that not always the inscription "natural" or "organic" is a guarantee of natural cosmetics. Today's rules for the certification of cosmetics allow the manufacturer to use all of the above components and, adding an extract of chamomile, write on the package "natural".
