Deputy Minister of Health Alexander Linchevsky said that treatment of oncological Ukrainians abroad is ineffective, but in the Ministry of Health his words were called "unsuccessfully used". This was reported by the press service of the department.
Speaking about the ineffectiveness and uneconomical use of funds, Linchevsky stressed: "In the dry residue, 25% of patients, in fact, die. That is, one in four is treated abroad inefficiently. Friends, colleagues! This is cancer. They will all die. They will all die without options. And the effectiveness of this program is 0% ".
The Ministry of Health reacted to Linchevsky's words, calling his statements "unacceptable" and "unsuccessfully used".
The Ministry of Health stressed that Linchevsky apologizes for his statements.
The agency drew attention "to the inadmissibility of spreading the incorrect assumption of a relatively high mortality rate (25%) among patients who were referred by the Ministry for treatment abroad".
"Since all patients under this program are in serious or extremely serious health conditions, the prediction of the success of transplantation and the likelihood of relapse is difficult and depends, including on the quality of postoperative care after returning to Ukraine. All these cases have high risks, therefore, the share of cases with remission at the level of 75% is a high result for such a program, "the press service noted..
The Ministry of Health considers the final results of the program "Treatment of Ukrainian citizens abroad" as a whole successful during the team's work.
