The budget of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine has been increased by approximately 10% compared to 2017, ICRC spokesperson Miladin Bogetic said.

According to him, the need to increase the budget arose after giving the local authorities the opportunity to implement new projects in the Donbass. He said that one of the priorities of the organization in 2018 will be landscaping and mine safety at checkpoints through the contact line.

"The budget was indeed increased by about 10% compared with 2017. Another factor contributing to the increase in the budget is the absence of other major international humanitarian organizations in Donetsk and Lugansk. The situation in Ukraine this year is one of the priorities of the ICRC. Particular attention will be paid to the situation at the checkpoints through the contact line. This concerns mine safety, elements of improvement, "Bogotich said..
