Hopes of many patients for free provision of drugs in the recently adopted law "On the fundamentals of the health of Russian citizens" are still not justified. It happened when the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation published on its portal a list of rare diseases that particularly threaten human life.

The list of the Ministry of Health caused, to put it mildly, confusion among specialists, patients and many medical organizations. Out of 230 diseases that found a place on the list of the Ministry of Health, only 24 are recognized as life-threatening. Basically, these are diseases associated with hereditary metabolic disorders.

And such diseases as, for example, myelodysplastic syndrome, the development of which leads to acute leukemia, and other oncohematological diseases were not included in the current list, although they meet all the criteria for selection.

However, it remains to be hoped that this annoying blunder will be corrected with the help of other existing programs of the Ministry of Health. What, in particular, was announced by the head of the ministry Tatyana Golikova in one of her interviews - the project on the expansion of the program "7 nosologies".

Despite the disappointing fact that every day, hour and minute for such patients are decisive, it remains to be patient and wait.
