Scientists from the Malaysian University of Malaya under the direction of Professor Daniel Franklin, engaged in forensic anthropology at the University of Australia, came to the consensus that fingerprinting can help determine not only the fingerprint of a particular person, but as a result of fingerprinting one can know the gender and physique of a person.

A hundred women and ninety-one men took part in the research of scientists, volunteers were fingerprinted. The conclusion of scientists is this: from the fingerprints of the first four fingers, except the little finger, you can determine the height of a person to within a centimeter.

The aim of the study is that the proportions of the limbs, in particular the fingers, are directly related to the growth of the person. It should be noted that DNA tests do not allow the appearance of a person.

In addition, a clear relationship between fingerprints and gender was found.

But the most unexpected conclusion of the research was that previously no one took into account all the revealed dependencies and did not try to conduct research in this area. The professor and his group are going to conduct research on a large group of people. According to the scientist, such knowledge, if they existed earlier, would have significantly helped the criminalistics and forensic medicine.
