If you spend time in hot countries for sunbathing, refuse night raids on the refrigerator. Changing the traditional food intake makes the skin more vulnerable to harmful ultraviolet rays, says health info with reference to medikforum. en.

Scientists from the University of Texas changed the schedule of nutrition in mice, which significantly increased their risk of encountering malignant skin tumors, as shown by experiments. This was due to a decrease in the production of a specific enzyme that restores skin damage from ultraviolet radiation. The study clearly shows that if a person changes the habitual intake of food, then this reduces the protection from sunlight during the daytime. Note that the sun's rays account for almost 99% of all cases of all skin tumors, including the most deadly version of them - malignant melanoma.

Observations showed that a specific enzyme called XPA, which restores the skin from solar radiation, changes the schedule of food intake becomes less active. In addition, when mice were fed at night, the expression of about 10% of their genes also changed. At the same time, scientists themselves do not know why a violation of the traditional diet leads to a change in the activity of XPA or a decrease in the expression of genes.

"The findings of the study surprised us," say the authors of the experiment. - We did not think that the skin pays attention to the time of reception of food. But now it turned out that if you stick to a normal power schedule, then protection from ultraviolet radiation is more reliable. Of course, this still does not negate the need to purchase sunscreen. Let us note that the conclusions of our study can not yet be completely transferred to people ".
