Canadian scientists have concluded that a sedentary lifestyle increases the risk of death. Before confirming their hypothesis, the researchers analyzed data on the lifestyle of more than three thousand people aged 50 years.



Participants of the experiment controlled their state of vital indicators with the help of special bracelets - fitness trackers.

Data were collected between 2003 and 2006. However, scientists monitored volunteers until 2011 or until death, if the participant died before his death.

After analyzing the indicators, the specialists found that those volunteers who were not engaged 2.5 hours a week with moderate physical exertion were especially vulnerable.

If the recommendations of doctors were observed, the mortality was significantly lower.
