To maximize the suitability and convenience of patients, it is proposed to make prostheses according to individual measurements.

Young inventors note that most of the modern prosthesis is designed for shoes with flat soles, without any frills.

The Prosthesis Prosthesis Prominence has a narrow profile, and it can be placed at the desired angle to the ankle to wear different models of shoes. At the moment, this complex mechanism already withstands a load of 250 pounds (113 kg), but in the future the product will make it even stronger.

"To begin with, we tried to put a balloon in the heel, which gave it the right volume. It did not work. We built a spring like a mousetrap, but it did not help either.. A sandwich of 23 titanium plates coped with its task, but it was too heavy. 20-layer plastic did not withstand the strength test, but 28 layers were enough for us ", the students tell about their work.

To test a new prosthesis, they recruited several volunteers with amputated stops, as well as healthy young people who moved on special stilts with dentures fixed at the bottom.

The results turned out to be promising, but the work is still going on, and it's not necessary to talk about the timing of the sale of the original product.

"In my opinion, this prototype is very successful and is a huge step forward. But, as usual in such a case, we still have some time to think about the design and carry out several tests.
