The birth of a child is not only a joyful feeling for his parents.

The phenomenon of female postpartum depression is well known and studied, but much less psychologists are aware of postpartum depression experienced by men.

Meanwhile, every third young father, in a state of such depression, was thinking about injuring himself or his child.

Psychologists emphasize that postpartum depression in men, for the most part, is not diagnosed and treated, because the representatives of the stronger sex are ashamed to seek help.

83% of depressed men are silent about their experiences, which can continue for many months after the birth of the baby.

Psychologists warn that the currently used methods of diagnosing depression in men are ineffective, since the cases of this mental disorder among them are much more common than it was commonly believed.

That is why many men do not receive the necessary assistance, and if depression is not treated in young parents, then it will be dangerous for their health and well-being of the child. Especially often, such depression develops in the parents of those children who cry too much.

The children of parents who are depressed receive less attention, which slows down their development. In some cases, parents ignore the needs of their children, and sometimes apply physical force against them, and such cases are not as rare as many think.

Young mothers are often tested for signs of depression, which are found in 10-12% of women. But the young fathers through such checks do not pass.
