The twentieth century gave us electricity in every house, overcoming long distances by car, women - short skirts, and men in this regard - the opportunity to contemplate the beauty of women's legs.

And in our everyday life the Greek word "diet" (diaita), meaning specially chosen by quantity, chemical composition, caloric content (energy value) and culinary processing of the diet, as well as diet.

But for many women of the late twentieth century, the word "diet" meant only one thing: losing weight by all means. Many of us sat down on all sorts of diets - food by blood group, the Kremlin diet, kefir diet Larisa Dolina, separate meals and t. And very few people thought about the fact that the diet harms our body. Lose weight under the supervision of a doctor was unbearably unpleasant; and were they, these most qualified nutritionists, in the collapsed USSR?.

When in the late nineties doctors of different directions (neuropathologists, psychologists, therapists, cardiologists and. ) openly started talking about the side effects of various diets, we began to listen to them a little. However, the desire to lose weight did not leave either of us for a moment.

So I, against all the known rules and advice of doctors, lost weight from sixty-five kilograms to forty-eight (with an increase of one hundred and sixty-eight centimeters). Two years later I threw away my photos, where I weigh at most - fifty kilograms. Too ugly it seemed to me - a clear-sighted - spectacle, where I was not a skinny girl.

Friends at that time in my life called me "chupa-chups on a stick" (apparently, because my head did not lose weight), and older colleagues called my legs "makoroninks", "spaghetti". I wore the 40th clothing size (according to the Russian standard), and at the same time continued to consider myself a plump. Insight did not come even at a time when in one of the clothing stores I was seriously advised to buy clothes not somewhere, but in the "Children's World".
