Why should I blink more often?

The American Academy of Ophthalmology reported that studies conducted in US public (non-profit) laboratories indicate a sufficiently low level of ionizing (type X-rays) and non-ionizing (ultraviolet) radiation, coming from screens.

Prolonged work with the computer can cause eye irritation (redness, lacrimation or dryness of the cornea), fatigue (general fatigue, pain and heaviness in the eyes and head), difficulties in focusing the vision. There are also back pain and muscle spasms.

Although eye fatigue and unpleasant, this does not mean that further work at the computer can harm the eyes. Before making pessimistic conclusions, it is necessary to understand the reasons. First, you need to try to make the workplace more convenient and, secondly, use special glasses, matched by an ophthalmologist, who also after the examination will help to exclude any eye diseases.

Practice shows that the correct organization of the workplace reduces the risk of eye fatigue. It is most convenient to position the monitor a little farther than it does with normal reading. The top edge of the screen should be at eye level or slightly lower.

Sheets with texts should be placed as close as possible to the screen, in order to avoid frequent movements of the head and eyes while translating the look. Lighting should be organized so that the screen does not have glare.

And most importantly, do not forget about yourself. At work, regular rest is required, as the monotonous pose is quite tiring for the eyes, neck and back. Do not forget to blink from time to time - this prevents dry eyes and, as a result, fatigue.
