Seborrhea is a disease of the skin, consisting in the violation of the function of the sebaceous glands, which in turn is expressed in increased secretion of sebum or its qualitative change. Usually seborrhea begins with puberty.

Oily seborrhea The most common seborrhea occurs according to the type of oily. The disease is caused by an increase in the secretion of the sebaceous glands, which is associated with an increase in the level of androgens. This changes the composition of sebum, which leads to a decrease in its sterilizing properties and the creation of favorable conditions for the development of microorganisms and skin lesions. The skin of the face, neck, chest and back takes a gray-yellow color, becomes shiny and coarsened, its porosity increases.

Hair quite quickly, often already on the second or third day after washing become greasy, shine, get slovenly, even glued in fatty strands. On the scalp, dandruff is formed from fatty scales, which is easily scraped off with a fingernail. Gradually increases hair loss, which ends in a relatively short time (3-5 years, sometimes more), significant alopecia. It is already impossible to restore the hair.

For aesthetic reasons, patients usually do a lot of washing their heads, but this does not give an effect - the hair again quickly becomes greasy. Moreover, the increased frequency of washing provokes an even greater function of sebum, and, as a consequence, the hair gets dirty even faster.

This disease is accompanied by severe itching, scales of dandruff stick together, forming gray-yellowish plaques on hair, falling from hair to shoulders, giving the clothes an untidy look.

The cause of seborrhea can be a yeast fungus, settled in the sebaceous gland. Itching and greasiness of the skin, dandruff can be the results of his stormy life.

Dry seborrhea With this disease, the hair gradually becomes thinner, loses its shine, becomes brittle, breaks and splits at the ends, begins to fall strongly. On the scalp appears dandruff in the form of lightly crumbling, dry whitish scales. The disease is often accompanied by itching.

Attempts to eliminate such phenomena by more frequent washing of the head of the effect do not give, moreover, aggravate the state. This is understandable, since the main symptom of dry seborrhea is dry skin. Therefore, all products that degrease the skin and hair bring only harm.
