Immunologists of the American National Institute of Health together with specialists of the pharmaceutical company Sanofi suggest using antibodies with two or even three targets to fight HIV.

Scientists began with the creation of bispecific antibodies, experimentally establishing which combinations of paratopes do not interfere with each other's binding to HIV antigens.

The most successful combinations were added the third paratope. The most effective was the combination of N6 / PGDM1400-10E8v4, resistance to which produced only 1 virus out of 208.

During the experiments the experimental monkeys were divided into three groups, one of which was administered this combined antibody, and the other two - either VRC01 or PGDM1400, and then subjected to infection with two strains of a variety of the immunodeficiency virus.

None of the eight macaques that received the retrovirus injection after trispecific antibodies were vaccinated did not fall ill, while in the other groups five and six of the eight experimental.

The authors of the studies believe that trispecific antibodies can become a new word in the therapy and prevention of HIV and other variable infections. The results of scientific research were published in the journal Science.

While the N6 / PGDM1400-10E8v4 was not tested in public. Physicians will have to confirm its safety and effectiveness in the course of clinical trials scheduled for 2018.
