Childhood spent under the sun will help prevent multiple sclerosis, according to an online edition for girls and women from 14 to 35 years old Pannochka. net While there is a widespread belief that being under the sun increases the risk of many diseases, a new study concluded that exposure to sunlight may be a prevention of multiple sclerosis.

This severe disease worldwide affects more than a million people.

This study was a kind of first evidence of the possible relationship between the development of multiple sclerosis and exposure to sunlight. This is said by Dr. Terry Dewer (Dr. Terry Dwyer) from the University of Tasmania in Hobart (University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia). According to him: "The new data obtained, of course, must be confirmed by other scientific works before we can give recommendations on the preventive effect of sunlight on multiple sclerosis".

The study included more than 400 people, 272 healthy and 132 with the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Conclusions were made on the basis of a careful collection of anamnesis, in particular about the amount of time spent by these people in the sun. It was found that patients suffering from multiple sclerosis, significantly less spent time under the sunlight, in contrast to a healthy group of respondents. People who spend under the sun at least 2-3 hours a day have three times less chances of developing multiple sclerosis.

"Our findings correlate with observations of a much greater prevalence of multiple sclerosis in countries with a limited number of sunny days," says Dr. Terry Duer. "In this regard, it is possible that the deficit of the sun in winter is much more dangerous with respect to the development of multiple sclerosis than its deficit in the summer. It is extremely important to determine the exact doses of exposure to sunlight ".
