Madiki from the University of Nagoya suggested that pregnancy can help the body cope with the hepatitis C virus.

With prolonged course this disease can lead to severe consequences - cirrhosis and even liver cancer. During the study, the level of viral RNA in the blood (the main indicator of active reproduction of the virus) was determined in 22 pregnant women and 120 non-pregnant women infected with the hepatitis C virus.

After giving birth to two women, the RNA of the virus completely disappeared, another one disappeared for a while, but then reappeared. In women who do not expect a child (we emphasize that they were five times more than pregnant women), the disappearance of viral RNA was observed only in one case.
