The crisis will significantly strengthen the position of Ukrainian pharmaceutical plants, modernize production and increase their market share. This opinion was expressed in the Association of Pharmaceutical Producers (AFP), which unites the largest pharmaceutical enterprises of the country, writes "Mirror of the Week".
According to AFP President Petr Bagriya, the situation on the pharmaceutical market has been normalizing recently: the established list of 186 drugs (or 2703 trade names) that are subject to regulation, and the linkage of drug prices to the dollar exchange rate at the time of delivery to the pharmacy greatly facilitated the work of distributors.
In addition, domestic medicines, received serious preferences, when the regulation of prices for drugs worth up to 12 UAH was abolished.
"These medicines in packages occupy a 30-percent market segment, and in money terms it is only 6%. Therefore today pharmacies and distributors are not profitable to engage in cheap medications. Letting pharmacies make an extra charge for such drugs above the established 35%, we will give them an incentive to sell inexpensive medicines, and at the very price it will not significantly affect, and they will still be cheaper than imported analogues, "notes P. According to the president AFP, in the price range up to 12 UAH. today there are 90% of those drugs that are produced in Ukraine.

Bagrii recalled that the new law on measures to overcome the crisis prohibits the purchase of public goods for imported goods and services, including medicines, if produced in Ukraine. According to him, now Western companies that used to sell their medicines in Ukraine will be more active in contacting the domestic producer - in order to give their product the status of local production.
