Siamese twins were born a few days ago in the hospital of Pope John XXIII in Bergamo. Mom and children who have been born by cesarean section feel well. Their mother is a young Italian woman. This is reported by the publication "L'Eco di Bergamo".

Two girls, after they saw the light, thanks to the delicate and complex operation of cesarean section performed by the doctors of the obstetrics and gynecology department, were immediately sent to the neonatal pathology department. Girls have one liver for two.

This is the first birth of Siamese twins in Bergamo, notes Italy in Russian.

The birth of Siamese twins is very rare:

in the scientific literature there is one case for every 200,000 births, and in 75% of cases the developmental defects caused by this condition do not allow children to survive.

Nevertheless, it was the Italian doctors who were the first in Europe to successfully separate the "Siamese". In 1958 in Italy were born Giuseppina and Santina Foli, who had a single pelvis and some parts of the reproductive apparatus. On May 10, 1965, when two girls were seven, they were separated by a complex surgical operation involving 25 surgeons at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.
