Women who experience increased pressure during pregnancy are more likely to have problems with coronary vessels afterwards, according to an online edition for girls and women aged 14 to 35. Pannochka. Net Previously it was thought that high blood pressure during pregnancy does not have any lasting effects, but now it turned out that it is not so.

Scientists from Holland found that women who suffer from increased blood pressure during pregnancy are 57% more likely to develop calcifications in the aorta and coronary vessels.

Vascular calcification is the deposition of calcium salts on the inner wall of the coronary vessels, which is associated with the development of atherosclerotic plaques and their hardening.

The study was based on the observation of 491 healthy women in post-menopause. After measuring the level of calcification of coronary vessels, all women were interviewed regarding the course of pregnancy and childbirth.

Despite the revealed link, the fact that women had to remember events that occurred relatively long ago could have had some impact on the results, therefore further developments will lead to confirmation or refutation of this fact.

However, the identification of even a preliminary connection should alert both women and doctors who lead them. If there is an increased pressure during pregnancy, the woman should be carefully examined taking into account the risk factors.

Maintaining normal weight, correcting cholesterol and controlling blood pressure are especially important for this group of women.
