Children who were breastfed subsequently move faster along the social ladder and achieve a higher social status.

A group of researchers from the University of Bristol analyzed the life-course of 1,400 babies born in 1937-1939. Their life course, achievements and level of social status were assessed over the next 60 years.

Those mothers were breastfeeding, 41% were likely to climb up the social ladder compared to children who were nurtured from a bottle.

The frequency of breastfeeding did not depend on the class as it depends now, say researchers. Now the practice of breastfeeding is most popular among the middle class.

However, the small probability that families with large incomes were more often fed with. Due to sufficient funds, such families could afford babysitters and breast milk substitutes.

The longer the process of feeding took place, the greater heights people achieved.

In families where one of the children was breast-fed and the other was artificially, the difference between them was about 16%.

Children on breastfeeding, growing up were more social mobility and purposefulness.

The head of the study, Dr. Richard Martin, says that the reason for this phenomenon was not the feeding itself, but the increase in the level of intelligence that occurs if the baby is naturally breastfed.

What exactly is in breastfeeding: brain development, great emotional connection with parents or just better social conditions lead to such an effect - it is to learn.
