A survey among 495 European residents by the Family Planning Association showed that the presence of such a subject as "sex education" in the compulsory school curriculum does not guarantee education in this matter.

Despite the availability of this and similar educational programs, some of the respondents thought that urination after intercourse or certain exercises can help avoid conception.

Half of the respondents did not know when exactly the most favorable period for conception. Up to a third of respondents thought that certain exercises can help avoid conception.

Almost 89% of respondents did not know that spermatozoa can live in the body of a woman up to seven days.

When interviewing schoolchildren, how informative is their sex education course, only 4% found it sufficiently informative, while 38% found it insufficient, and 18% said that they did not give them anything at all.

To assess the European level of sexual enlightenment, 3,800 British schoolchildren between the ages of 13-16.

According to the survey, about a quarter of teenagers were more or less sexually active. Only half of teenagers living a sexual life used contraception at each sexual intercourse.

To improve the education of people in such an intimate issue as sexual activity, the association plans to create a computer training program that will help teachers and students avoid the awkwardness that is associated with this subject.
