Aromatherapy can significantly reduce the level of anxiety and depression.

According to a report published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, a new study conducted by scientists shows that aromatherapy can significantly reduce the level of anxiety and depression faster than other methods.

The first serious study of the greatest reliability was organized by British researchers in several parts of the country.

The project manager, Dr. Amanda Ramirez, says that for the first time official medicine has faced such tremendous efficacy of non-traditional methods in such a serious group as cancer patients.

The work carried out by Dr. Ramirez included a study of 288 patients with different types of cancer at different stages and severity of the disease.

The mental state of the patients was far from the concept of "health". Many patients suffered from panic attacks, insomnia and all kinds of phobias.

According to preliminary studies, about half of all cancer patients suffer from various kinds of mental problems. During the work, half of the patients received aromatherapy and massage, and half of them received traditional psychological methods, such as counseling or, in severe cases, psychotherapy and meditation. Symptoms were re-evaluated after 12 weeks.

As it turned out, the symptoms of the disorders went away earlier in groups that received aromatherapy than other methods. She helped get rid of mental disorders in two weeks, while psychotherapy took six weeks.

At the tenth week the results were, in general, equal, but the group that was treated with aromatherapy, nevertheless, showed better results.

Treatment with odors proved ineffective against pain, nausea, or weakness.

For the organizer of the study, it also brought considerable benefit. After a short period of time, Dr. Ramirez diagnosed breast cancer.

Knowing the fact that aromatherapy helped many of her patients, she decided to try the method on herself during chemotherapy.

Her experience, she describes these words: "Against strong drugs there was a feeling of something soothing and pleasant, like balm. At the same time, the sensation of exposure was so strong that it seemed as if I inhaled the antidote from the poisons that circulate in my body ".

Cured of cancer more than five years ago, she managed to return to research, although she was worried that she could not.
