External attractiveness is closely related to how we walk. This conclusion was made by a group of American scientists, having analyzed the opinion of more than 700 participants.

It is commonly believed that female attractiveness is associated with a figure that has the shape of an hourglass: wide hips with a narrow enough waist.

However, researchers from New York University showed that a simple ratio does not give an attractive image to the people around, and it's not only in the ratio, but in the gait of a woman.

Attractive women seem to have a feminine gait with a swinging hips while walking. Without this, in their opinion, even a woman with ideal proportions will not be attractive.

Men's gait also makes the image of a man more attractive, however for a man's gait the most important indicator is the specific movement of the shoulders when walking.

The big difference between the hips and the waist characterizes femininity in the culture of the West because the Western woman does not need muscle development, since she does not perform heavy physical work. The opposite type of beauty with the development of muscles is preferred in the countries of the third world.

To clarify the criteria for beauty, the researchers conducted tests involving more than 700 participants. The test was that all the subjects were shown images, animated and video and asked to assess the attractiveness of an object.

Some figures were definitely masculine or feminine, some were veiled and at first glance it was difficult to determine the gender of the object.

Regardless of the format of the picture, "female" objects were considered more attractive if their hips swayed while walking. "Male" objects were recognized as more attractive if they slightly shook their shoulders when walking.
